Painted Fairground Skid Panel - 07
This collection of rounding boards are sections of from a huge Lightning Skid frontage featured at the long established Carters Steam Fair. Originally hand painted by the master of fairground art, the late Fred Fowle - arguably one of the most recognisable painters of fairground art in the last century. After many years of use, the Lightning Skid frontage was recreated by Carter's Steam Fair using the same skills and techniques; this reproduction frontage is shown in the images below. But these pieces here are the original Fred Fowle painted panels and make for great alternative wall art that has authentic vintage fairground heritage.
This sign shows signs or wear, age and use - but we think it all just adds to its vintage beauty.
The quality of this board is quite sturdy but please be aware it does have some flaking paint and rough edges due to being an original sign from the 60s. These factors are reflected in the price for the panel.
