Mother's Day Staff Edit

Mother’s Day means something different to everyone.

For some, it’s breakfast in bed and handmade cards. For others, it’s a quiet moment with a cup of tea. This year, we wanted to do something a little more personal. So we asked our own team, all mothers, to choose the piece they would most love to receive this Mother’s Day.

Here’s what they chose.

MEGHAN 'Coast' Set of Six Twisted Dinner Candles

 1. Why did you choose this product? I chose these candles because I love the colours, and they fit perfectly with the decor in my home.

2. How you imagine using it? I would pair them with our blue and green ceramic candle holders and pop on top of the fireplace mantle to add a little colour and texture to the living room.

3. What does your perfect mothers day look like for you? Going for a nice walk in the sunshine and have someone else do all the cooking! Having lots of time to just play with my little one.

AIMEE Cheena Round Hurricane Vase

 1. Why did you choose this product? I chose the Cheena Vase because it’s bright, colourful, and versatile. It’s the kind of piece that instantly lifts a space and adds a cheerful touch to any room.

2. How you imagine using it? I’d use the vase to display fresh flowers picked from my garden, bringing a little bit of the outdoors inside.

3. What does your perfect mothers day look like for you? My perfect Mother’s Day would be spent in my garden with my family, watching my two boys playing while enjoying the sunshine and some lovely food!

DAISY  Botanical/Wildlife Painting

 1. Why did you choose this product? I chose this product because it fuses together two of my favourite things – vintage wares & plants. The paintings are reminiscent of that you’d find in a illustrated botanical book. I have a deep interest in plants and herbalism so find books like that both enchanting and purposeful. Taking inspiration from those books and turning it into a piece of art that is both beautiful and reflective of my passions, ticks every box for me.

2. How you imagine using it? Gallery walls are something of a necessity if you have a small house and too much artwork. Necessity aside, I think they are a fabulous way to combine everything you love and create an impactful space. These botanical paintings would be dotted in amongst my other treasured pieces, a fusion of fairground art, charity shop finds and the odd investment artist’s piece. The size options are particularly useful as they are great for filling smaller gaps in a gallery wall.

3. What does your perfect mothers day look like for you? I’m not one for celebrating these sorts of things so that’s quite a hard question to answer. At the moment we are in the thick of it with our house renovation, so just a few hours off from chipping away at endless to do lists would be a treat!

REBECCA  Dark Green & Turquoise Midi Stripe Recycled Cotton Throw

1. Why did you choose this product? I chose this throw because I’ve just bought some new furniture and the colours are a perfect match. It will add a lovely pop of colour and tie everything together beautifully.

2. How you imagine using it? I’ll be using it as a cosy throw to snuggle up under on the new sofa. I might even get creative and turn some of it into curtains for a coordinated look.

3. What does your perfect mothers day look like for you? Lunch with family followed by a walk on the beach, and the 1st Hockings of the year!

TASH  Mocha Swirl Embroidered Cushion Cover

1. Why did you choose this product? I love the texture and design of the Mocha Swirl, to me it embodies movement and freedom.

2. How you imagine using it? I think the colours would look great on my dark colour armchair at home. The curvy cushion design could be a cool contrast against the angles of the chair.

3. What does your perfect mothers day look like for you? All I need is tea and cake somewhere by the sea with my husband and daughter - maybe a G&T in the evening too!
