Our vintage saris are made from 100% rayon and are soft, floaty and beautifully dreamy. A range of colours is available to choose from and each sari is a one-off. Some are embroidered, some are sequinned or beaded or if you are really lucky, you could find one with all three. A family-run private business spanning twenty years supply us with these vintage saris, as well as recycled cushion covers and duvet covers handmade with a crazy patchwork of old embroideries and saris. They employ thirty men and women directly and one thousand cottage workers. In this case a large proportion are from a western part of India called the West Zone. The majority of this land is very poor, infertile, desert land and the company pays more than the recommended government rates. This work is much appreciated in a huge and yet sparse region. They also support the desert people with an education, books and study materials for their children. The saris they supply us with are approximately six metres in length which equates to endless possibilities. You could go old school and wear it or you could use the oceans of fabric for a project. Wall-coverings, curtains, roller blinds, bags, cushions … the list goes on. Whatever you may choose to use it for, you can be assured that they are all very beautiful and are blessed with bohemian charm!
