Signature pieces, focal points and finishing touches don’t have to be all encompassing or overpowering. Sometimes simplicity and understatement can be just as effective. This platter is hammered by hand into shape from pressed metal and then the rustic verdi gris is painted on, also by hand. This item is manufactured in Amroha, India where eleven people are involved in the manufacturing process. All of their products are handmade and the company offers free meals to employees and gifts at festival times. They also run a NGO Elementary School on their premises for the children of their employees, and donate money and provisions for bereaved and poor families. For a business that started just over ten years ago with zero investment, they are doing well. Display empty on a shelf as an objet d’art or on a coffee table loaded with tasty and temptingly wrapped treats. Either way it will be a talking point with its tarnished beauty. The brilliance lies within its imperfection.
Why we love this product!
