Sometimes the old adage involving a broken item ‘that ain’t’, i.e. no fixing required here, just needs to be, well … ignored. A bracket may do the job, but it can be so much more! This bracket is hand-cast in iron in a sturdy art deco style. The straight lines and bold shapes of this era were an expression of early twentieth century belief in technology and progress and here it creates a neat, ordered piece that is beyond practical. Admittedly, sometimes simple is the way forward, but for an item that can be viewed from beneath, adornment is surely the answer? It is finished in a distressed light brown weathered effect, is double-sided and aesthetically pleasing from any angle. Pair up and add an solid piece of wood or metal for a shelf, or use on its own to make a sconce or plant shelf.
