Product Description

This delightfully tufty pouffe is woven on traditional handlooms using wool. It is a perfect pastel palette of woven stripes with thick natural swathes of tuft adorning the edge. The bottom is plain black cotton and the top is a kelim pattern. The textile manufacturer who makes this amazing item employs four hundred people, of which over half are cottage workers. These artisans use traditional handiwork techniques to make all of their products including weaving, embroidery, kantha, tie-dye and block and screen printing, using materials such as wool, jute, seagrass, cotton and recycled materials. These can include anything from sweet wrappers to saris. All employees receive ES insurance, entitling them to free medical treatment for all the family, a Provident Fund pension scheme and interest free loans if necessary. They also support several international charities. They describe their team of young people as energetic and committed to the company’s vision of the future. The calming hues and wonderful textures make it a focal point and statement piece in any room. It is such an eye-catcher it instantly highlights and enhances a space in effortless bohemian style, with tufts on!
