Supplier Info: These gorgeous socks are hand-knitted by artisans who are based in the rural Kathmandu valley in Nepal. The small manufacturer who supplies this product employs up to seventy men and women and the work that they provide for this local community is hugely beneficial as not only does it provide independence, empowerment, a better standard of living, more importantly, it means that people do not have to leave their homes and families to find work elsewhere therefore keeping traditions and communities thriving. Lunch and snacks are available to the factory workers and wool is delivered to the homes of the talented knitters. Their staff are described as hardworking and sincere and the company encourages a good life/work balance. They say, "All the people here work hard, we live on a hand-to-mouth basis and still find joy in the simple things in life like family, friends, festivals, food and drink".
Each and every one of these pairs of socks is unique.
