Individual detail can make a room and something as simple as changing the handles on a chest of drawers can provide an instant update or makeover. This jaunty little doorknob with a ‘circle of hearts’ design is handmade from something called ecomix; a mixture of clay, chalk powder and paper pulp. It is hard-wearing and eco-friendly and is supplied to us via a medium scale manufacturer based in Jaipur, India. Although described as a doorknob, this handle is more suitable for drawers and cupboard doors as opposed to a standard door and screws into a hole. It is held in place by a washer and a small nut. The rustic appearance and hand-painted quality of this doorknob portrays an almost child-like or ‘gingerbread house’ characteristic. Pick and mix with doorknobs from the same range or mismatch completely for that boho hotchpotch look.
