Supplier Info: This textile manufacturer employs four hundred men and women, of whom over half are cottage workers. Employees receive ES insurance to get free medical treatment for all the family, provident funding for pensions and interest free loans for various health problems or marriage. They support many charities including SOS Children Village India, Save the Children and Oxfam. They use many traditional handiwork techniques including weaving, embroidery, block and screen printing. Materials used can be anything from jute, to seagrass, wool to recycled denim, saris and even sweet wrappers.
