This is a beautifully hand-crafted sheesham wood chair with with more than a nod to scandi-inspired minimalist design, but with a 1950’s twist. Each chair is unique with slot-in cushions upholstered in recycled vintage cotton with kantha (traditional running stitch) embroidery. Please bear in mind that the cushions are made from old fabrics so there may be slight imperfections, but it all adds in to the individual appeal.
Supplier Info: This amazing piece of furniture is made by a small business based in Jodhpur, Northern India where just over fifty men work in the factory and a further eighty-five from home. The business provides free education for slum children and there is a good working environment within the company. The owner says “that in word they are 'employees' but in reality they are ‘family’”.
